SimMuscle consists of three parts:

1) Wetlands: a useful introduction presenting six different species of frogs in their natural environment.

2) Preparation shows digital video-sequences of the dissection and preparation of the leg muscle.

3) Practical Course: all standard experiments performed by the student in the virtual laboratory featuring a length and force rtansducer, an electric stimulator, and an oscilloscope.

Some featured Experiments:

- Single twitch as a function of stimulation intensity

- Superimposition of double stimuli

- Tetanic contractions

- Resting-tension curve

- Curve of isometric maximum values

- Curve of isotonic maximum values

- Force-shortening velocity relationship

- Fatigue
